Reading all of the posts about Colin’s physical transformation made me start thinking about young men during those transition years. We have the strange universe of cyber-space to give us images of a person such as Colin at the age of 21 to 26 at the same time. The images of his natural aging is put into a blender and pasted on the wall of our computer screen. We copy and paste the images that appeal to us, discard the ones that don’t, and are temporarily shocked by those images that appear unfamiliar (such as Colin seeming to fill out a shirt and blazer!). It seems every new image we are fed of Colin these days causes a bit of a jolt, which, in many ways, could be compared to a junkie getting a fix! We need more and more. In my opinion though, although I miss the huge doe-eyes and carved cheek bones in some ways, this new Colin-drug is getting better with age! So, in light of this musing, I’ve collected a poem and a couple of quotes, in appreciation of Colin’s journey into manhood, and, for the man he was, is, and will always be.
A man of twenty and a year,
With brow held high and axe-head near,
Came and saw my leaves a’spray,
And marveled at their green display.
A striking young man, tall and swell,
I knew not of love until I fell.
Ah… Love…

I like my scrawny Colin with the adorable stage presence. I don’t know who this new guy is.
